The Paediatric Observation Priority Score (POPS) is a checklist which demonstrates an acuity score (between 0-16) of acutely ill children using easy to collect data. It is undergoing continuous validation and further information can be found via the Paediatric Emergency Medicine Leicester Academic (PEMLA) Group website.
POPS is copyright Dr. Damian Roland, Dr. Ffion Davies.
Disclaimer: The POPS system is not a substitute for good clinical judgment and is not intended to be the sole decision making tool in the assessment of acutely unwell children. Any concerns about the condition of a child should be brought to the attention of a senior heath care professional. The designers of POPS take no responsibility for its use in actual clinical practice.
Guidelines at a Glance (GUAGE) provides a shortcut to the key aspects of commonly used guidelines in medical practice. The first set of topics are all child health related but please make suggestions as to future sections of guidelines you would like to see!
